Just got done with a week in a c7 vette. WOW. The want is real - don't drive these things unless you are ready to buy one heh.
The car was so good. Quite fast but in a "stick to the road" way. The one annoying thing is how intrusive the traction control is - fine for going fast but when you want to play you basically have to turn it off.
In the twisties though... my gawd. Sooo much grip and speed.
I found myself driving much more like an ass than normal though heh.

Only thing where this thing doesn't shine is lower speed fun. It just begs you to go fast.
It is also a BIG car (at least compared to my FRS). However, you get used to it fast and the visibility is pretty good. Pretty much killed all want I have for the camaro.
Bonus points is both dogs fit in the back and they loved it (except when I was on throttle lol).
I would love a C7 GS, but not sure I want to spend that kind of coin.

The vettes have different levels of traction/stability control. Ive driven C5s and C6s. I had an early C5 and it was on or off i believe the later ones have competition mode. I know the C6s Ive driven do. The 6th gen camaro has a similar setup and If I put it in competition it only steps in if I get way out of shape.
I may be the only guy here who's only driven a C8. Due to the mid-engine arrangement, that car doesn't feel that big, particularly since you can barely see any car ahead of the window.
But there's something about the C7 that screams out All-American badassery in a way that the 8 doesn't. More of a broadsword than a Scimitar.
Having just finished a weekend in a C7GS at Putnam. DAYUM. Just phenomenal machine that performs with absolute authority around equipment costing 3x its MSRP.
Cooling, dry sump, electronics, suspension all setup for track driving and fits 315/335 NT01s for all sorts of tomfoolery.
It is HUGE compared to everything else I have driven (and almost too wide for the trailer) but once you are at speed drives strangely nimble and neutral. Hated the steering feel of the c5 that made it feel like you were over the rear wheels but the c7 has a German feel to its track mannerisms and cockpit feel. Traction control has like 400 settings from intrusive all the way to you on yo own.
Warrenty that's extendable to something like 6 or 7 years and covers track days? I must be dreaming. With a rollbar, 4 point ASM harnesses, comp seats, NT01s, and a track alignment she crushes PCars.

Hmm, mine did not have a competitive mode - just "track" mode which honestly did not feel all that different from sport/touring. It was 2019.
And yea the manual absolutely made the experience. I would never buy a c8 due to this.
