I don't know what the hell this guy is talking about. It seems so full of E36 M3 that I don't know what to make of it.

Crazy old coot/Charlatan

LOL- I actually talked with that guy back in the late 90's, has was trying to sell the product to us. One of the videos showed him running a diesel motor without spark plugs (it was a NG start). Shocking.

One has to bear in mind that for the most part- liquids that contain hydrocarbons will boil off the HC first. That's how refineries work.

I can explain it, it's a bunch of crazy bullE36 M3. You really don't want plasma in your engine, and I can guarantee no kind of radiation other than infrared will come from that contraption (unless you put radioactive materials in it).

He's made a heated, partially liquid-filtered intake for a lawnmower engine.

This isn't even anything like a refinery. At most, you could get some flammable gases from the fluid in the bubbler if it's a volatile chemical. Only the gases that come from it get heated, not the fluid itself. This thing would work better...or reduce performance less...if it didn't have any exhaust heat running through it.

Edit: My mistake, the bubbler does get heated by the exhaust air, so it could work sort of like a crappy little refinery. Still heats up your intake air though. I wonder if an intercooler would survive on that thing.

Also did you notice that the car runs partially on its own exhaust with this setup? Direct Exhaust Injection!

It seems to be boiling VOCs off of whatever is in "the bubbler", sort of like running the engine off an overgrown PCV system.

I have to wonder if he did any back to back testing with the magnet reversed.

I bet he'd be shocked that the polarity of the magnet, or even the material of that rod, and the north/south orientation make no difference

I'm fairly smart (didn't get fooled by muffler bearings) but much of the language does not compute.

He's convinced that it's creating a plasma and the polarity matters- as his credit cards were erased when he stood next to it.

At least that's what he told me.

I didn't suggest that his credit cards got turned off for other reasons.

He also tried to convince me that since the terry cloth towel next to the exhaust was clean, that it was a direct measurement of the emissions....

I did give him a chance to stop by, but he never did. He was convinced that I would make fun of his rusty POS instead of the technology. Considering who asked me to hear him- that wasn't a choice.
