So that I have my new to me stealth missile at home I have 4 cars to park.

Miata toy in garage, ripped softtop Other side of garage is filled with kid stuff Odyssey van sits in driveway usually on left side because right side of driveway has a tree that likes to drop crap on the cars. I parked the montero out on the street to the side of the house because the actual small driveway/street out front gets hit by sprinklers and is also quite narrow.

I'd like to find a car cover to possibly be able to a) move the miata outside and maybe put my new benz in the garage or b) help me keep the Montero clean while parked on the street and trying to sell it and c) keep the benz nice while having to be street parked.

I've only had one car cover and it was free for my old Jetta and it didnt seem to be water proof so was worthless

Anyone had good experiences with reasonably priced car covers? Or are there some just worth paying for?

No idea but interested in the answers. Especially re: leaking top, will any covers actually keep water out?

I've had many car covers. Have yet to find one that handles being outside very well.

I have a car with no windows I must occasionally park outside. When I do this I throw a tarp over the exposed are and a car cover over top of that. It works well for a night or 2, but I would not use this method perpetually.

Car cover + outdoors = paint damage.

I live in San Diego so extended weather is an extreme rarity. I am mostly looking for solutions while I need to keep the montero detail/clean while up for sale. And than potentially if I could find a more long term solution for the miata to make room in the garage. (Hardtop is an answer but is about 1k)

I have a California Car Cover on my crown victoria. It's the most basic one, only $200 and when it rains it keeps my car completely dry. However, I'd recommend the more expensive one the "superweave". As on my cover I woke up one morning and found rips in it and a bunch of nuts under the cover. Apparently a squirrel thought it would be a good place to hide some acorns, scratched up my car too. The "superweave" he wouldn't been able to get through it. California Car Cover replaced the cover no questions asked.

At this point the zippable frame around the window has completely crapped out
