Remind me not to race at Beech Ridge, apparently these guys have nothing to lose...

And helping hold down the guy in the S10....

I... Wait... What!?
There are so many bad ideas going on at once...
Are they spiking the sno-cones with tequila and steroids?
The event looks like fun for some odd reason as long no one wants to play smash up derby with you .
Years ago I for lack of a better word "crewed " for an guy doing dirt track racing and the new guy would get picked on and put in to the wall , well one of the new guys (put in to the wall six races in a row ) decided to go out in " Style " and put almost EVER car in the wall in a heat race !!!
We had seen some of that heat from the pits , the guy came screaming in to the pits ran the car up on the trailer and took off like his ass was on fire . I am not sure he even took his helmet off before taking off in his truck. That was a wild night.

I guess they sign a waiver?
Gotta admit the guy in the Caprice had it coming.

I second that thought. It's like Huh?

I'm going to go for a long shot and guess these are not their own cars. Given the 'official' at the end of the Grand Am/Caprice one looked like a cop, I'm wondering if they are impounded cars; you pay to race; damage is... expected...

It's a demo derby race basically; some people think because they have a pricey ride the other guy is going to play nice for some reason...

so i dont understand.
i could see this with $500 lemons cars. but some of these are nice new cars? what gives?
It looks like the usual "King of the Hill" antics, just went a little bad with the contact.

I still don't get WTF is going on. Why are there $40K Trailblazers and $30K GTO's doing this? How in the hell are tracks affording the insurance on this? Some of these Nostradumbasses aren't even wearing helmets or seatbelts.

Some tracks offer a cash purse for the winner. They run eliminations like at a drag strip. I still really hope you're right though.
After watching the Jeep/Blazer clip I was actually pissed off. The Grand Am guy helped me feel better though.

A friend of mine did this at riverhead raceway, you 'sign away your life' & have at it on the track.
He ended up getting his new wrx sideswiped, but wrecked the other guy's car (much like the sho/neon clip)...

That is collectively the dumbest thing I've ever seen.

yeah the spectator drags at riverhead were often entertaining.
Can someone distill the concept here in 10 lines or less? I just don't understand.

Yeah, I'm with everyone else.... How is this game played?
It looks like the only winning move is not to play...
or get the cheapest POS you can find and go play.. also, bring it on a trailer just in case. i wonder if you can do it "grudge race" style and race against your buddies? cuz that's the only way i'd do it..
Wow! You must have to sign a "I understand I may get beat to within an inch of my life after I intentionally wreck some guys expensive car" waiver as well.
We have those here (dirt and paved), but people generally play nice, and the racing is for real. I've seen some good races, and never seen a wreck.
Thanks for posting that. If you hadn't, I probably never would have seen this
