I don't make as much money as I used to and it can be rough for me to come up with the money to do the Challenge on top of racing the Escort this year. Plus wedding trip in June. I definitely won't get in any track days in 2013. Depends if I can get them done early 2014.

To those who have done it, how much of a pain/costly was the liability policy thing?

Doesn't cost any less to run a Challenge car, sir.

I'm gonna do it either way, i just can't promise it'll be 2014. 2015 is far more likely. I also maintain that my Challenge car would be competitive in other classes, so i won't be swayed if the class doesn't come to fruition when i have the money to do it.

But really, if it was a fast Challenge Car, it would have placed far better in the $2012 Challenge than it did. Clearly it's slow as balls.

I can attest to the event being a total blast... and last year we drove it in an AMBULANCE!!

This year we are bringing a 2007 Crown Vic to keep it Retro and will be running hopefully in the new class called "PLUS-Sized Sedans" which is an offshoot from the Mid-Priced Sedans. This is to keep us from having to compete against the 400+hp AWD 3000-pounds or less Evos and Subies in a 4200-pound 200whp Crown Vic.

There are hundreds of Crown Vics on the internet for sale that cost a WHOLE lot less than $2113.00 as I bought a 2006 model last week for $825.00!!

So are the rules for the Challenge class just the PURCHASE Price or the entire investment to the car? I was looking for the rules but missed them somewhere.

Come join the fun!! We will be giving our custom Crown Vic away at the OLOA Awards Banquet after the event. Someone will be the lucky winner... will it be you?
