Civic Type R info released today. Wood?

I like the competition it is going for, especially bang for buck value but focus went AWD, why can't civic? This would be a killer rally car!

The wing would have to go. It sort of reminds me of my old integra. Goofy looking, but the view from the driver's seat was just fine. I bet they sell fewer of them than they you would think.

I could live with the looks if it were AWD.

The video with the eg hatch and 86 gave me a huge stiffy. Why not another car like that? Light weight with killer handling and near 50 mpgs.

Disclaimer- eg hatch was my first non stereo build and first performance build. Miss it all the time

I like it. Don't think I would buy it though because of the busy styling. Honda has been asleep at the wheel for years (mostly) in the performance department so this is a good thing. How did they come up with three exhaust tips?

This car is almost pre-riced. The styling needs to be turned down a few notches. It's giving me F&F flashbacks.

That's been hit several times with the ugly stick. It's also expensive enough that its out of reach of the target demographics that would want to buy it.

Those with the money will more likely choose the Focus, Golf R, STi, etc...

I LOVE the interior (as I do on most Hondas's/Acura's), but as an adult I wonder if I could see myself driving it in commuter traffic.

Why couldn't they put the entire package in a more subtle shell??? I still might go check one out, curious to see the first drive reviews

I love it. If you're going to go big, fortheloveofmike, go BIG! It's about time Honda built a civic that didn't look like a suppository. I like the standard Civics now too. Interestingly, everyone I know that's bought one of the new ones is over 60, and/or retired. The old guys are digging the style, so who knows. Having said all that, for mid 30s I'd probably buy an RS, but damn, a Civic that has more factory HP than my Mustang did is pretty cool.

Adjusted for inflation, it costs what the Integra Type R did in 1997. Whether or not it's as good as an ITR remains to be seen.

But yeah, I'm not a fan of the styling.
