You've probably noticed the fresh layer of paint here on the forum.
In order for everything to display correctly, you'll probably have to clear your browser's cashe. (I saw a lot of extra white space before clearing my cache)
If you have any questions about how to clear your cache, feel free to ask here and we'll find instructions for you. Google works well, too.
Hope you enjoy it!
Dammit! I accidentally cleared my Cash, now I can't buy lunch.

I did that but there still seems like a lot of white space.
I see big white bars on both sides of the screen - possibly because my resolution is set to 1920x1080?

I get that, too. As if the whole web site is designed specifically for a narrow screen. That makes the larger font even more akward.

I am using Firefox, if that matters.
I'm not seeing white space, but the 'Quote' button seems to be wholly non-functional for me...

+1, very low content density on my 1366x768 laptop screen (looks the same on both Firefox and Chromium). Although I know all too well that Google punishes you for putting things too close together to easily hit with a finger on a small phone screen.
Looks good otherwise though. The new post editor is nice.
Im ambivalent towards the new skin. I bet it will look great on my phone.
Doesnt look like the photo upload option exists yet (wasnt that going to be in a future revisions?).
The paragraph spacing in the text input box seems huge. Do we still have to put multiple spaces to go to a new line?[EDIT] apparently not...
Also, looks like theres some code that still needs to be cleared up in HTML...the preview box in the photo link screen has the "Lorem Ipsum..." filler text in there still...
also of note, firefox has an autocorrect feature that underlines mispelled words in text input fields with a red zigzag line. When loading the edit page for this post, mispelled words are momentarily underlined in this box, but then as the page continues to load, the lines disappear. Im wondering what you have going on in here that defeats the autocorrect function? I use it a lot because I am a borderline ludite. If its possible to get that back, I think that would be a nice feature.
All in all, I am pretty happy with the change.

Probably the nature of the JS-powered WYSIWYG editor (since browsers only run spellcheck on certain "regular" input fields).
One problem I just noticed: Quote citations are gone.
In reply to GameboyRMH :
Good point. Just requested the return of quote citations. Thank you!
Might be isolated to just me, but clicking on the links to the right of the forum replies, returns me to the forum article being read. For instance, clicked on the current top link "Tacos, Talent and Too Much Fun", came right back to this thread. Same for the "Turbo Ford Triumph Spitfire" (a definite interest item, but I digress...).
Test test.
Well that worked. It looks weird, hope the functionality is improved.... I too fear and dislike change.
(and work computer doesn't let me do things like "clear cache")

Quotes now have no signatures and do have citations.

Reported this one to our developers and it was fixed. Thanks!
Wait... Something changed?
I can be slow sometimes.
So, the new layout does seem to work better on my iPhone- but I agree with the sentiments of others that it really is a step back on a computer, which is where I do most of my browsing & posting here.

Sorry Ed, but not digging the change on my ipad using Safari. WAY too much white space even after clearing cache (i.e. history).
Any other ipad viewing suggestions to tighten things up?
also, in the past the forum "reordered" posts putting newest post thread on top anytime you went back to the post listing in a given category (if that makes sense). Now it takes a manual reload to reorder them.
Same here with three different iPads. Way too much "dead air" and the header fonts are larger than needed. Formatting needs a closer inspection, please. (See what I did there...)
No difference at all when I cleared the "catch" on both Safari & Firefox.
No bueno!
(Everything has a "catch", especially new looks on familiar websites.)
I am not too Stupid to Grasp what Clear Casche might mean But I am too stupid to Do it. I have been on Most hot rodding forms for years and the "old" GRM was with out a Doubt the Easiest to "Navigate" to read and find stuff I wanted than on any Forum I have ever Been on, I bragged to anyone that would listen. I know this must have been a LOT of work and Costly also, But this isn't easy it's not Pretty and it is Difficult to Find what I am looking for. But this is just a Test Drive Right. what was wrong with the other one I must have Missed that thread. Love ya'll..... but this kinda Sux

It's hard for me to parse on my s8+ and chrome. It looks like old people mode.

I'm gonna be perfectly honest, the new layout is a mess.
Everything is MASSIVE, seriously, each page of threads is about 5 pages of scrolling. Also why is all the text doublespaced?
I reduced the zoom to 65% of actual size and it's more reasonable.
There is also the nagging issue that it seems to lock up my browser every time i try to load up a thread.
There is also an ABSURD amount of white space (yes i did the cache clear, etc, still the same) making threads really hard to read and follow.
Frankly i think the old layout was fine. The point is that a forum is supposed to be easy to read and lightweight. It was before, it isn't now.
Here's what I'm looking at on Chrome at 1920x1080:
