i was fixing the geo metro for the umpteenth time, i put the pedal to the floor, heard a pop, and found that it the clutch cable has broken. how do i replace/ remove it?

First get a pair of long nose vise grips and pinch the cable in the rubber boot at the transmission end of the cable. Then take a 14mm socket and ratchet and loosen off the nut that is threaded onto the end of the cable. Then I think there is a circlip that holds the outside of the cable to the transmisison mount. For the other end, there are two 10mm bolts that hold the cable onto the firewall on the engine side. Undo those and then there is just a loop on the other end of the cable that hooks around the clutch pedal lever. I hope that helps.

mw pretty much summed it up. The same thing happened to me when I had my metro. It was a $15 part and literally took 10 minutes to replace it.
