Searched but it seems like no one can give a definitive answer.

Buddies 92-6 somewhere in there chevy 1/2 ton truck has a v6 and 5 spd. Nice truck that I'd like to use to tow a small trailer on occasion.

Only thing is the clutch is very stiff, and doesn't engage until the last 1-2" of travel on pedal. At the top I mean. When changing gears you barely have to push the clutch in for it to disengage enough to shift. Shifts fine, no grind. Doesn't seem to slip.

I believe it's a hyd clutch.

So why so stiff, why so high? Hyd means it's not an adjustment issue right? Unless there is a pedal adjustment, somebody told him, "oh there's a deal where the rod is too long" Really from the factory? Even for Chevy that seems unlikely after 20 yrs. Change fluid and bleed seems like a place to start to me. But any good thoughts?

I drove a 5 speed 92-ish 302 1/2 ton before. Don't know if it is all the same junk, but you basically summed up my experience.
