For sports cars (limited space) I have found the Fiero and Miata seats to be excellent with good lumbar support. For larger seats, the Jensen Interceptor seats (patterned after period Recaros) are very comfortable.

When I was restoring my MGA Jamaican, the Miata seats were the only ones narrow enough to fit between the frame rails (they had to be socketed into holes in the floor but that's another story). One year came with leather and they are very comfortable - important in that car as you recline in semi-prone position because it is so low. If the picture comes through, that flat out seat position is actual driving position (passenger seat is upright for access to the rear area).

Yep. SWMBO has been making ever louder growling noises about it. To the point that I suspect if she ever figures out there are companies like Riccaro out there, that I'm going to be replacing the stock seat with one.

You might know this. I thought when I took out an older 850R a few years back it had different seats. They were cloth and matched the sorta garish factory interior. I really thought that was a factory thing and I thought I saw some old brochures online showing this. But now days, I see nothing. Am I wrong, there were no special R or T5 seats in the 850?

I'm gonna wager a guess, you've never been in a Type R Integra (the recaros are decently comfortable!) or a near new / freshly reupholstered CRX (also real recaros!).

All the 850Rs that I've seen had leather bolsters and suede centers, and the T5 was similar but might have had some reversed. I haven't seen a cloth seat, much less a garish one, from them. I would love to see it if it exists; garish seats are right up my alley!
