1/2 scale 1969 McLaren Can-Am go-kart
The price is crazy, but I really like this. If I win the lotery, I'm getting one for my youngest.

I agree that the coolness of it is nearly off the chart, but the price is unjustifiable. Surly a GRMer could build a convincing copy for challenge price or less.
That gives me an idea, I'm putting that on my watch list, if it actually sells, I've got a cottage business to start!

I think you'll find that the difference between working for free and being paid for your time will explain the price pretty quickly. Good luck with the build.
Looking at the site this isn't a one off. You can even buy just body. Love the idea yet $12k for something that well get beat on seems like a bad idea.
Real karts are cool. This thing is a stupid expensive toy. What fun would it be to go out on the track and be whipped by every other kart out there?

Because it still looks awesome! While there is plenty of merit to be had in going as fast as legitimately possible within a given platform, not everything is about speed.

The panels only curve in one direction. The transitions are simple 90 degree corners. Grab some sheet metal and slap the body together .
This is cool, but I'd rather have a "naked" cart without the body. Just a basic vintage frame and a hopped up 6-10 hp motor. Man I need one!
