I can't help with the auction, but I can say, that is one of the grossest C4's I have ever seen, and I was a parking valet in the 90's, so I have some experience.
It’s free to sign up and watch auctions. I have a free membership and have been watching a few to get an idea of how much certain cars go for.
In reply to AngryCorvair :
C4s usually bring way too much money on Copart, I wouldn’t be surprised if that car brings $2-$3k.
I did a nationwide CL search and found a few complete running driving LT1 cars under $3k, and a local '96 6MT car with no engine, ask is $3k "and the trans is worth $2500 so no lowballers." My friend wants to offer him $1000 and he can keep the trans. That might happen.

Your cork-soaking friend is *mainly* interested in suspension & brakes, yes?
If The "Poop" Is Correct, I have an 85 manual C4 that is a rolling Chassis.
and by the way, I am in Favor of Beating the Prices on C4's to Death, that one is worth a Grand ALL Day, the one I have for sale is a Minimal Version of that and I want a Grand for it.
There are a few around that are Priced well over 10 grand and THEY may be worth that kind of money BECAUSE they haven't been Dogged and Beaten. It Isn't worth it to Bring one back but finding one that Hasn't needed to be redone is different. Beat the Hell out of the rest of them.

He definitely soaks cork, no question about that. And he's holding out for a complete car because it answers so many other questions like cooling system, seats, wiring, etc
