Four months ago I thought they were all 911's.

Yea 89 is the last year of the Carrea in Cab form, the most direct decendent before the 964 started. the 964 C4 sputnik was started that year. I don't need a cab, it misses half the fun, no track days, but I do live in a beach town and so could probably flip it. I mean the fellow who found it is thinking crazy low like $5k which I doubt the guy will go for, so it's proably not a real deal. But it would have to be that low to make it worth while.

Neighbor who flips cars just got a 99 cab only needing minor touch ups, at auction for $5k so it's not like it's impossible.

At 5k I'd be looking to get it running for cheap and part it out.

I have an 86 Cab, live in a beach town in FL so it isn't a summer only car. I like it and a simple bolt in roll bar stiffened it up. I have another car for track use so although I might try it on track one day it will never be a track car for me. The boot for the vert top isn't cheap if you need/want one and admittedly the roof doesn't retract as much as it needs to in order to be aesthetically pleasing.

I know these aren't the desirable track cars and all, but I think for all of the fantasies, toys, and posters as a kid, I deserve it to myself to own one at some point. I'm sure they're far more temperamental than my 944, but still.

Minor touch ups, like if a guy did it himself there'd be maybe $7500 in the whole car?

Because if so and it's a manual trans, that sound extremely nice. Not my favorite generation of the 911 but good lord, that sounds like a good deal.
