I sure there are some Hyundai nerds here so:

My father bought himself a 2012 Elantra sedan a few months ago. Coming from a Subaru Impreza, he likes the comfort and mileage of his new ride, but he finds it too "floaty" and imprecise.

I was thinking some sway bars so he keeps his comfort.

I tried to look if the Elantra GT or coupe came with upgraded suspension but my google-fu is turning up nothing.

Anyone have any suggestion?

If they make Koni FSD dampers for it they would likely do the ticket. Bars aren't a terrible idea but they probably won't make as much of a difference as you think. Wheel/tire combo can make a huuuuge difference too.

Shocks will fix that for you.

Koni FSD or Bilstein HD are both very good options. Do those first to get rid of the floatiness. Then if he still wants a little more, try swaybars.
