Ziex 512's are awful, and you won't get 45k out of them. (Unless they've made some biiiiig changes in the last few years since I had a set on my Miata.) They're not that grippy, they're loud, and they SUCK in the wet. The only thing going for them is that they're pretty cheap.
That was about my experience with the 512's as well. Vastly over rated for what they actually did.
And as a tire to avoid, the Hankook Optimo H727. The most squirmy unpleasant feeling tire I have ever run in my entire life. Their performance is just as bad.
Just another note on the Falkens - no experience with the 512, but I did go through a set of the 912 on the MR2. I thought their grip was acceptable for a performance all-season and they dealt with standing water admirably. However, they didn't last nearly as long as the indicated tread wear rating suggested. I want to say around 20-25K miles of spirited dd and 3-4 autocrosses. If a tire is only going to last that long, I'd rather have something with more grip for my money. Also, autox was not kind to them. Lots of little tears on the surface of the tread.
I don't bother with all seasons anymore.
I really liked the Ziex's performance for a CHEAP street tire in wet and dry, but I too ate through them WAY quicker than expected.

If you can still save your winter tires for winter then definitely get summer tires instead of all seasons. I would love to blow money on some super autoX sticky tires and etc but I drive my daily... well daily and I maybe AutoX 4-5 times a year so I can't justify 500 dollars on 15" tires.
I'm currently tempted on this:

I'm sure they have them in your size too but the tread looks like and price is certainly right
No. NO. Just...no.

Ziex 912's are quite a bit better in pretty much every respect (had a set of those too) but from what I understand there are better choices out there for similar money.
Thats why I'm tempted, I may not keep the car for more than a year and I cant sell a 2011 mazda2 with bald flat spotted star specs. 295 dollars to my door for tires is pretty hard to turn down... but you do get what you pay for.
Also I have a set of winter wheels and tires so ideally this is any upgrade over an all season tire or bald and square star specs
I ran Fuzion ZRi s on the Stang in 255/50/17 until they stopped making them in that size. Great tires for the $, good grip, got 30k out of them every time. I liked that they gripped well enough to be competitive in local STX but were still quiet at the edge of traction or past it. You could raise hell on the street and not draw attention with screaming tires.
I'm running the Kumho SPT ( I think) now. Grips okay, probably as well as the ZRI, but they scream like a tortured soul when pushed. Don't know on wear yet.

These have a much better tread wear rating for similar money, anybody able to comment on them?
I swear to god..... no one listens to anything I say.

The vette HATED the SPT's. I got 5k miles on a pair of rears and they're on the wear bars.
I'd suggest the new 4X (have them on the SeX) and the have GREAT grip for an A/S tire. not a great deep snow tire, but if you have winter tires already, it doesn't really matter. So far, I've got ~ 7k miles on them and showing no wear at all yet, even though I'm a bit... um... "hard" on them.
Fuzion HRi's I had on the accent. I would put them on par with the Uniroyal Tiger Paw. Wears like iron..... and that is where the compliments stop. Terrible rain tire, medicore in the winter at best. Had minimal dry grip and they were the loudest tire I've ever owned. Switched over to Kumho Platinum LX tires on that car about 13k miles ago and it completely transformed the car. Quiet ride, great grip great wear to date.
I wouldn't recomend Fuzion HRi/ZRi to my worst enemy.
I still think the LX Platinum is a better tire overall, but they are $15 more each.
I bought a car after listening to you, I meant any more feedback, you knucklehead
HAHAHA!
The 4X just came out last fall so it's a pretty new tire so far.
From the reviews on here and from what I'm gathering for all Falkens is that I'm just going to spend the extra 45 dollars and buy a set of DZ101s
I have a set of Yokohama S.Drives on my Protege and I've been very happy with them as a three-season tire. Less highway road noise and cornering squeal than the BFG G-Force Sports I had previously. Better turn-in too, and my arms don't get fatigued on road trips like they did with the BFGs. I have about 25k on this set and they're maybe half worn.
I have had Hankook Ventus V2 Concept H437 tires for about 30k miles on my Hyundai. Lots of tread left on them still, I should be able to get at least 50k miles out of them I think. Light years better than the pos kumhos that came on the car.
They are more than enough dry traction for street driving, do well in the rain, and don't have an issue with a little snow either. Sidewall is a bit on the softer side I think.
I put about 25k miles a year on the car, I would buy these tires again.
I had a set of Direzza DZ101's previously on the same car, those tires were more grippy but did wear faster. Sold them with the rims when my commute became long distance before I wore thru them completely.
I have Hankook Ventus V12s and I cannot comment on driving in anger or longetivity but they are still holding my car off the ground. Tirerack has a rebate.

I've run various Kumho Ecsta tires, but not that exact variant. VERY thin and delicate sidewalls. Overall, the ones I ran were ok, but nothing to write home about.
Use lots of air pressure to keep the tire stable. Otherwise it rolls a lot and you'll wear out the edge of the tread quite quickly.

Both the PLatinum LX and current 4X have beefy sidewalls and high load ratings. Neither require a ton of airpressure for street driving.
If you're not that concerned with an extra $60, this is a MUCH nicer tire:

We put a lot of these on Acura's and had fantastic luck with them on the TL. I put ~45k miles on a set on my old Elantra before a pothole claimed one and busted a belt. They still had 4/32's on all 4.
