Not real well. I'm 6" even, and it's CLOSE with a helmet, all the way to the floor. What one of those characters ^ there said something smart though. Forester 2.5xt. IIRC, they made it in a manual for 2??? years. Rarer than a 240sx without dorifto stickers all over it, completely boltable with STi mods, and TOTAL sleepers.

I can't comment on the child seats as I have no kids... yet. As far as headroom though my wife's Forester XT seems to have a rediculous amount. I figure everyone but Manute Bol could fit in with a helmet.

Didn't Manute Bol just die? You could probably fit him in now.

I have to agree with this. You can only expect so much of a single car. You'll have to compromise in a big way in at least one department. My wife and I have between us four nicely running cars, a truck, one currently non-running project, and a motorcycle. We are very much proponents of the "different vehicle for every purpose" school of thought.

Oh man you are right. I had no idea. Apparently that was something I missed on vacation. June 19th 2010, RIP Mr. Bol. Seemed like a good man active in charities in Africa. Apparently in 2002 he also survived a car accident which broke his neck.

i know they aren't known as a handling car, but there is a ton of rear leg room in a 93-97 Chrysler LHS. they are well built cars that are dirt cheap to buy, easy to work on since the engine is pointed in the proper direction, as comfortable as anything i've ever driven, and mine averaged 24mpg.

we had to put my neice's rear facing car seat in the middle of the back seat of mine for a roadtrip once, and there was about 6" between the most forweard part of the child seat and the closest part of the front seat. neither my brother or his wife complained about how much room they had on either side of the car seat for the 2.5 hour drive each way.

maybe get one and use it as the daily beater/family hauler and keep something else as a play toy.

Ford Fusion + Miata? Mazda 6 + Miata?
