So...Cayman or 911?

I drove a Cayenne Turbo that has one, too.

The thought of towing with one now scares me. The VR6 models have torque converter type automatics at least. (But then you have a VR6.)

I don't have 911 money, but if I did, I would probably buy a better Cayman.

Got to drive a couple of these last week. My daughter is the title clerk/event coordinator for the local BMW/Jaguar/Land Rover/Porsche/Volvo dealer. She roped me and a couple other guys from the autocross club to setup a simple course in a parking lot for the presentation of the new 718 Boxster. We got to drive a 2016 non-S and two 2017, one S and one non-S. All with PDK. That PDK is impressive. I noticed it even blipped the throttle when downshifting during hard braking in Sport+ setting. The S is a set of good tires away from being extremely fun, not that it wasn't fun but a good set of tires will go a long ways.

I had this 2016 PDK Boxster (non-S) for six days a couple of weeks ago and I just about fell in love with it. I would be perfectly happy with a base model Cayman.

In reply to wlkelley3:

You need to try a GT3 with PDK, there's really no reason to even use the paddles - it's that good. The byproduct/benefit is it allows you to really focus on your line and being smooth. If I had a few spare organs there'd be one in my garage!

It's kind of hard to count the pedals from this angle, but I'll give you a hint...

Didn't think I had 911 money but I found a nice base cpo 911 with PDK for less than many Caymans. I personally prefer the look of the 911, although I love the Cayman and I was originally looking at them. The PDK is pretty awesome.

Good to know! What year is your 911?

In reply to Woody: It's a 2013 that had 24000 miles on it. It's the base 3.4 with PDK and 20" Carrera Classic wheels. White with a bunch of non- performance options. It was a toss up between this and a cpo CaymanS but I always wanted a 911.

911s shot so far beyond my price range that I don't know the answer, even though I should. Does the 2013 911 engine have an intermediate shaft?

In reply to Woody: No. I'm told the 997.2 were updated. I agree about prices but I got good money for my s2k and I think mine was less expensive because nobody wants a base car. Everybody wants an S so there aren't many base cars around I guess.
