Actually, that third place time in the autocross was mine, driving the Cobra Kai Speed Shoppe Mustang. The other "pro" drivers were the aforementioned Steve and Alan, plus, new this year, Steven Duckworth and Robert Lewis.

Congratulations to Ryan and the Texas A&M team, as well as Phil and the Mumpkin team for outstanding runs in their well-built Miatas.

My apologies, Danny. I misunderstood who was driving, and who deserved the credit.

I was also embarrassed that I overlooked you when I mentioned Pro drivers. Your contribution to this event and your driving skills are incredible, and many participants (including me) have benefited greatly from your efforts. Thank you.

OK, I was wrong. Pro drivers had a lot to do with the podium finishes, but A&M still topped the heap.

Thanks guys!

What were your 60' times looking like?

"And hopefully we can figure out how to turn our 112mph trap speed into a 12-second time... need to start figuring out how to get a Miata to hook up on the strip"

Did you use proper drag slicks? That, and a suspension adjusted for drags rather than autocross will make it considerably quicker.

To be honest, we only had it at one autocross on the Hoosiers before the challenge and didn't get much chassis tuning done (powertrain issues ). We left time out there at the challenge and are planning to come back next year with some actual suspension tuning (it was pushing like crazy). Great job!

And feel free to post 80% of your hook up solution. I'm sure many would be interested to hear it.

Now the hard question- will the team develop that car, or re-invent it?

If we could marry your 112 trap speeds to our 1.93 60' times, we might have something!

Exactly, recognizing this means the car will continue to get faster. I know we're never going to put down a perfect run, but I know we can get much closer than we were.

We had neither... We ran out of time this year making sure all was well with the powertrain, and didn't get around to drag tires or much testing other than a handful of passes at the 1/8th. I know slicks will solve a majority of our problem, and some 1/4 mile seat time and suspension tweaking couldn't hurt either. Also... we've got a couple more lbs of boost up our sleeve :)

We were hovering around 2.4s on most of our runs, but I don't have the slips with me right now.

Yeah, we need to talk. That's pretty high. We were just hitting our stride by the end of the evening, and I'm pretty sure 1.7's are within easy reach.
