Looks like it's on closeout at most, if not all, distributors. Anyone know if it's due for an update or if Dunlop is ditching it completely?

I know it's not even close to the hotness right now, but it's one of only a handfull of 200tw tires in 14", and one of only two in a size my car can use...

They've been on close-out forever, TR shows them in stock 185/60-14 if that helps.

Being on closeout suggests it's going to get some kind of update...there's no hint either way from Dunlop or any rumor mills that I can find.

It's possible that they just have a bunch with older date codes that they're trying to move.

I have some answers, though not definitive.

Dunlop is owned by Sumitomo, and manages all of the JDM versions of their line.  Goodyear has a joint venture where the US/EU versions are distributed by GY.  This is why you'd often see a new version of the Direzza line in Japan about a year before we'd get it.  Further, our version wasn't always exactly the same...they were often tweaked.

Recently, Goodyear announced plans to divest the Dunlop rights.

So it appears to be the end of the USDM Direzza Z1/II/III line.

Sidenote ==> Goodyear recently bought Cooper/Avon.  Will be interesting to see how that one shakes out.  I know people who used to work there...and are employed elsewhere now.

Thanks Andy!

Luckily I can still get an A052 in a size I can use. After that I guess I'll be looking for 15" wheels or heading for Hoosierville.
