That is cars that suck for LeMons, not necessarily for all forms of racing

Read the article and also take care to notice WHO picked those cars. You're barking up the wrong tree.

Go bark to Jay Lamm. PROTIP: You won't find him here.

And how to use the apostrophe. Plural of 944 = 944s, not 944's.

Would some one care to explain. I fell like I walked into the middle of a conversation here. Seriously. the 944 is a great car

Now the other problem there is actually a 944s model so how do you make 944 plural with out completely confusing things?

Similarly my 924s has the same issue I have always had to speak of it in the singular just to avoid this annoying problem.

Perhaps it should be 944Ss.

If you read the magazine you will see that the creator of the LeMons series was asked what cars are historically not good for a 24 hours of LeMons.

His response included Taurus SHOs, Fieros, 944s, by inference the Ford Tempo and Camaro. Basically they all tend to blow up or fail in some spectacular fashion before the 24 hours is up.

The point is that a 944 that qualifies for the race, ie is less than $500 all set up, will probably not finish the race.

The OP, who apparently doesn't have a sense of humor, has his schnitzel in a twist over the fact that a crapped out 944 isn't historically reliable enough for LeMons.

Seems somebody's upset at the magazine because the LeMons guys think a 944 is a bad choice for LeMons. (Just thinking about a $500 Porsche makes me want to agree, BTW.)

944Ses?

exactly.

I usually capitalize the 'S' when it refers to the model.

Ex: 1987 924S, 944S, 944S2, etc.

When going plural, I would say either "two 924S models" or, if there isn't space for all of that, 924Ss, 944Ss, 944S2s, etc.

People who get all atwitter about anything Lemons related amuse me. Those people probably don't like South Park, Andy Kauffmann, or children.

And this particular guy is probably a troll who grabbed the mag by accident whilst looking for the latest 'cats national'.

944s are rather easy to diss. I've autocrossed against quite a few of them, and never had one best my time.

While I agree this guy needs to loosen his laderhosen, there was a 944 that was in great shape to finish Lemons this year. Then they sabotaged it for no reason, after they had told the drivers "a 944 will never finish this race".

My buddy's 944 (that was literally pulled from a field two months before the race) did pretty well at the inaugural ChumpCar race, just needed a fuel pump and the shift linkage during the race.

but yeah, the guy that started this thread really went off a little less than half-cocked.

if you know 944's than you know lemons $500 cap is not 944 friendly. the parts for a proper front end service can easily exceed $500 alone...

How many teams running sub $500 944's can effectively bypass a blown $95.00 DME relay? How about replace the $400 fuel pump? and so on, and so on.. 944's are awesome cars, but lets be real, getting one for under $500 to run a 24 hour race is going to be very difficult. I applaud those who've tried, I Think its awesome, but the comment in the mag is not unwarranted in the context it is presented.

And, if you look at the calendar that comes with the latest edition, you will see not one, but TWO 944's pictured. that's two months of twelve with 944's using up valuable space!

Id say that makes GRM pretty 944 friendly!

Id also say that running a 2.0 924 is a much better option for lemons, a car that will go 400 miles on three cylinders and still run like new when you get spark back to the fourth makes for a great enduro car, but im a bit biased

Seriously, nothing against llamas but could you really have a whole magazine dedicated to just llamas? I guess you can because there it is. I wonder what their subscription numbers are?

Oh by the way.............I like 944s. Always kinda wanted one.

How could you tell he was holding you up from all the way back there?

This should be a pic of you with your front wheel next to his passenger door if you want to make the point I think you were going for.
