Distracted driving

So Ford and their Driving Academy are coming to the school I teach at to run a program about distracted driving for a day. Seniors with licenses will get to pilot Mustangs through different activities designed to show the negatives and difficulties of distracted driving. Ford is taking care of the parking lot event. I need to come up with something equally important and catchy for the non-drivers that could be done as an assembly of the other classes. I would like to have someone come and speak who was interesting and somewhat famous. Any suggestions about whom? And more importantly how I would get in touch with them? Could be a racer, a doctor, or even a kid. I'm looking for someone with relative experience regarding driving skill and distraction. I think someone of Randy Pobst's skill and knowledge would be great. Anyone got his # ?

Alternatively an activity based experience for the non-licensed would be good too.

What about simulators for the non-drivers?

Doesn't have to be driving, you could bring in flight-sims, or mech-sims, or dating-sims, or whatever.

I would think cops are tops at that. That's who'd I'd try contacting.

Not from the perspective of dealing with the aftermath of distracted drivers, but their own distracted driving. They drive and type on computer keyboards and talk on cell phones and radios, and watch the heck out of other people.

They are probably the most successful distracted drivers on the road.

Another category might well be taxi drivers. For similar reasons.

Sims are very expensive. I've looked into them as a teaching tool to add to the curriculum.

We have an SRO (School Resources Officer) working out of the school. I have spoken to her and colleagues about something, but was hoping for something less governmental.
