I love the grille/nose on those '69 Impalas. Some good looking bodies, too:
I found a few for sale when looking for a cruiser but wound up with my '75 Safari wagon.
I have fond memories of a friend's 73 Impala coupe'. Great car except for a complete lack of room to work on the engine in that great huge car. I have no idea how GM managed that
I prefer the '69 Caprice. My great aunt had one. Looked a lot like this one:
But with a 327 2bbl, no hidden headlights, and the wheel covers & white walls on this one:
Unfortunately every summer in the salt air of the NJ shore dissolved the cowl. When it was finally put down I was told the 327 found its way into a Corvette.
My first car was a '69 Impala Custom Coupe with a 327. Even then I thought it was ridiculous that a car that size had only two (rather enormous) doors. It also had a weird reverse rear window that made the trunk lid look ginormous. But I had wheels, man!
After my freshman year I sold it and bought a '67 Beetle. Now that car I really loved and hated parting with.

A best fiend of mine in HS inherited his Grandma's '69 Caprice coupe, also blue with black vinyl.
A back seat big enough to have sex in and a trunk big enough for an orgy
My 2nd car was a 69 Impala Custom 2DR - 327 Powerglide. Owned the car for 5 years. Always liked this body style as well as all the 65-70 model years. I've always wanted a 68 or 69 with a big block and hidden headlights. A 69 427 or 68 396. My brother had a 68 Caprice Custom 2DR - was an ex FBI car. 396-325HP, TH400, 3.73 Posi, triple black, hideaway headlights, hubcaps. Bought it around 1975 or 76. The side exhaust exhaust, headers, thrush mufflers, and holley carb came later along with the Torque Thrust wheels. I'd love to have a duplicate of that car. It was a mover for a big car. Factory 8Track,usually playing Heart, Aerosmith, or Led Zeppelin tunes. It was that car, that got me started on cars (I was 5, he was 17). This was when each year cars looked different. I'd take one of each 65-70.
I had 4-5 over the years...Wow the memories. Two were favorites. I dropped a 454 into one and ran 12's. The mustang guys hated it. One the strip it pulled the wheels. Had one bad experience. Blew the tranny line off and dumped a ton of fluid onto the track on the first event after South Mountain was paved. It was uglyyyyy. The other favorite was an X-cop car with a 140 speedo. Ran it at over 100 for 15 miles trying to get to a race. I was on time :) Hauled a bunch of engines in that thing for years.
I'm curious what kind of money this guy is asking(I assume ridiculous in cases like this). Keep in mind the 65-70 B body is the 4th most produced car EVER, and 1st by units/year.

Was it silver with a black vinyl roof!??
Interesting. I always get a kick out of the single year car collectors. Something must resonate with those people so much that they have to try and buy up every example they can. A few years ago I drove past a property that had to have 30+ mid 90's Buick Roadmasters of all things!
