Not to thread jack but I found and want this. http://bringatrailer.com/2011/01/10/bat-exclusive-1985-mercedes-benz-190e-16v-2/
No $$'s right now tho.
The 190E is gone, my friend Eric was very interested.
As for the Honda proving grounds, I'm trying to convince Bill we have the new FM World Headquarters.

Oooh, I'll make a donation to the Targa team AND FM World Headquarters!
Oof...combo wind farm/club track/automotive nirvana.
I wonder where they are going to relocate for testing.
You all know that the Honda proving grounds are the Mojavie Desert? It gets really HOT there. So hot if fact that there is a lot of investment in solar thermal power generation.
Come to think of it, if you leased all the land that you were not playing on for power generation, you might be able to make enough money off the location to pay the expenses and have a no-cost motorsports playground. I have to look into this further.
Yeah, the heat thing is serious there. 4-5 months out of the year it's simply hellish during daylight hours.
I like the solar array idea though!

Is there a "model" that you are supposed to look for with that? All 190e's I see don't look anything like that and I've always wanted one...

That's the Cosworth 190E 16V -- designed to compete with E30 M3s. Pretty slick ride. Someone scored one heck of a deal, IMHO.

Martin Brundle once said it had the finest RWD chassis he'd ever driven.

But, he didn't fess up to saying that on the tele, or the phone.

Ayrton Senna agreed with him heartily!
That place used to be SO off limits to the motorcycle magazines etc... rumor had it that Honda put it there to discourage overflights etc. and actually hired air security, so to speak, during prototype testing.

Yeah, I work in Mojave, a few miles south of the Honda test track. If you like hot sand and sad-looking Joshua trees, this is the place to be.
OTOH, it's a dual-sport haven. I just got back from a short, impromptu jaunt around the windmills in the hills. The dirt is perfectly damp, the sun is out, and it's 60 degrees. Just amazing.
Also, Willow Springs Raceway is just up the road, and Buttonwillow is about an hour away.
Too bad it's all in Cali-friggin-fornia.
