Wow.
That's all I've got.
I like the i4 a lot. If I had the means I would be shopping one against the Polestar 2; I enjoy that they are both 5-door hatchbacks, though with decidedly unique execution.

You and me both. I clicked to find out what the heck an I4 M50 was. I thought maybe some piece of obscure military equipment.
The pics didn't show up for me at first and I was really confused. I knew it was a BMW but I thought an M50 was an inline 6cyl...

Can be outdone by Lexus in the race to ugly grilles!
In reply to John Welsh :
There is obscure military equipment that actually looks better.
It looks like a Miata that sucked a lemon.

I can at least see where Lexus is trying to go with the wild grilles. The BMW ones just look awful to me, like a 90s Buick that got stung in the lip by a bee.
Svrex, I'd love to drive one. I'm excited for all the electric hatchbacks and wagons and vans we're going to see in the next few years.
So, the performance makes up for the ugly? It's not like you can see the grill from the driver's seat anyway.

That's because a few years ago BMW put their naming conventions into a blender set on pureé.

Fortunately, you don't see the grill from the driver's seat?

Yep, sure is.
The thrust is incredible, yet even more impressive is the stability. It's just planted. In every way possible.
There is no way to gauge how fast you are going. Other than the speedo, and how fast you are passing everyone else.
Fit and finish is gorgeous.
0-60 in 3.7 seconds. 536 maximum HP. Up to 270 mile range on a charge.
Yes, I'd say the performance makes up for a lot. I never looked at the grill.
It's sitting at the dealership I'm working at, but they are not allowed to sell it yet.
This one has a deposit on it.

Pretty much everyone has. Even Mazda. It drives me nuts.
It's too bad you didn't have coachbuilders today like Pininfarina or Bertone would could take ugly fast cars and make them pretty fast cars.
I think there would be a demand for it, even if they could only change grilles, fenders and hoods.
For those still confused by the title...
An I4 is basically an electric version of a 4 Series BMW. The M50 is their current performance model.

I really like this trend of hatchback sedans, similar to the Mazda 6 hatch. BMW of old didn't let you fold down the back seats on sedans. I love my BMW hatch because I can actually get the rear seat flat and use the space.

I was thinking four-cylinder Infiniti.
