Anyone know who sells drum brake backing plates? I need one for my son's 89 Ram 50.
For that, I'd bet dealer or wrecking yard only. The aftermarket makes backing plates when they are a poor design , leading to frequent replacement, like the GM midsize design that used clip-in wheel cylinders. Otherwise, they couldn't care less- no profit in low turnover parts.
Now the GRM answer- Swap in a Miata rear diff and suspension, and a Ford 5.0 in front.
