I have to post the contents of the add for when it's gone.
Say hello to the most interesting E30 in the world. In 1986 it quit its factory job in Germany in order to sing back-up vocals for Huey Lewis and News during their world tour. Its claimed that it picked up its case of Euro engine swap from a prostitute while touring with the band in the Netherlands. It split ways with Huey in 1989 when the E30 came up on the losing side of an argument regarding the bands artistic integrity. It then traveled to the United States and began a career in the adult film industry. After funding for a pornographic portrayal of Bill Clinton’s presidency fell through the most interesting E30 in the world made its move into feature films. Starting with Karate Kid in 1984 it was later seen on set giving pointers to Robert Deniro while he was filming Ronin. Where as Tom Cruises’ character acted like he did, the most interesting E30 in the world actually did bang-out Penelope Cruz while filming Vanilla Sky in 2001. NASA engineers were baffled after discovering that the steering wheel of this E30 was on the correct side of the car in both England and the United States. It is a predator in a world or prey. It is wheat amongst chaff. It is, the most interesting E30 in the world.

FAQ's-
What was the donor car for the engine(model, year, mileage)?
The donor was a European Grey Market e23 735i, I believe an 84 The car had around 100k but the cylinder head was completely rebuilt by metric mechanic with all new valves and cams and 3 angle valve job. that was around 65,000 miles. This is pretty much what I know about the engine, my friends dad has two grey market 735i's, but one turned into a parts car because they were too expensive to maintain, so we bought the engine out of that one. It was running great when it was last started, but we haven't fired it up since we haven't had the car running yet.
Is the transmission from the same donor car? The transmission is from the same car, and it is the original transmission, not sure what the P/N is but it may be a close ratio, it is whatever came with the car.
What would it take to have this thing running? There are various odds and ends that you will need but the basics are:
1)Shorten the driveshaft which comes with the car 2)Exhaust 3)Battery 4)Shift Linkage 5)FuelPRessureRegulator, you can probably just grab one at the junkyard, we bought a new fuel rail for the car, but it uses the newer style FPR 6)A couple coolant hoses
Do all of the electronics/computer hookup properly to the engine? I spent a week doing all of the electronic hookups, I have tested everything short of starting the car. I modified the engine wiring harness to accept the E30 Round port, so there is a single connection port, I think a 121 style connector jsut like a factory E30, I have PDF files with both of the wiring diagrams if you need them.
Are there any rust problems on the car? There is no "cancer" on the car. There is definitely some surface rust in the trunk the needs to be sanded, and a little at the sunroof drain, but the only other rust on the car is the drivers side floorboard. There isn't a big hold or anything, but there was a water leak when we first bought the car, so I would assume there is a little rust under the carpet, although I haven't actually pulled the carpet back.
The car is a steal right now, and we could easily part it for more than $1500 but it needs to move out of our garage. It is worth it even to buy and move all the running gear to another car.
