Yeah, like driving a Mustang GT without the mullet stigma...But with the (fill in the blank) BWM stigma.
let me bring you back to reality...when someone spends this amount of time on a car and then, hardly drives it when "finished" and says he "lost interest" the translation is: I can't get the thing to work right, its so frustrating that even with all of the investment I put in it I don't want to spend any more time getting it 100%....do you really want to step in and be THAT guy who gets suckered into this?
Depends . . . people have their reasons for abandoning a project. Their reasons don't matter if I have $$$$ burning a hole in my pocket, the project is running and we agree on a price.

Actually, I've done that several times with great success. Thing is, people can get burned out on projects. But a new buyer has a new enthusiasm for the project. Getting it 100% is sometimes not all that hard to do when you have a fresh perspective. That said, you do also need to be very careful before signing the check.
Apparently the owner of this car actually makes the kits that other people use for 5.0 swaps into e30. Stuart (who has a build thread here at GRM) is using his kit in his own 5.0 swapped e30.....so this car is definitely legit, and well known in the e30 community among those doing V8 swaps. It's probably exactly what the seller says....he's lost interest and probably moving on to another project once he got this one done.
For some people I think it's just the fun of doing the build, and then you drive it for a bit and then move to the next project. Not everyone can just keep all their former project cars sitting around in the barn like some here do :D

That's harsh, man. Some of us never finish our projects.
65Matt did the same thing with the e36 he did the initial 5.0L swap on. He built it, mostly sorted it out and got rid of it. (shrug)
I'm still working my way through my 5.0L e36 swap. I got the JTR driveshaft flange, ordered the 1310/1330 bastard joint locally and got the final hydraulic fitting for the clutch (EAR-989534ERL). I'm just starting to screw around with the summit racing headers with the "custom drilled" header flanges. PRC at it's finest. I hope I can open the holes up enough with a file or my die grinder. It's to be expected with Summit branded junk.

Car snobs on GRM, huh, yet an Aires and a Jeep are legends at the Challenge
