I finally heard a relatively uncorked Ecoboost Mustang. I actually heard two within an hour of each other. It was cool to hear the blow off value hissing (probably aftermarket considering the Cobb letters on the door), but that aftermarket exhaust sound was... industrial?

I know the popular complaint is that only V8 rumbles should come from a stang, but that uncorked 4cyl noise out of any car would be wrong. If I had a Ecoboost Mustang I would forego the extra ponies and go stealth as possible with a silent exhaust note.

On the other Ecoboost topic, I just rented a Fusion Titanium with the Ecoboost and paddle shifters. Nice car. Too large for my needs but it was a nice ride. The steering wandered a bit over crummy roads, but that may have been tire/tire pressure related. I never drove a car with shift paddles worth using, they did make the car fun. Of course it was a rental so I banged on the shifts for no reason other than boredom. Overall that was a nice meaty engine in a real nice package. It was the first rental car that made me think I really need to buy a brand new car from the factory one day.

What was up with the Ecoboost Mustang only running a 3:15 at Lightning lap? I was hoping one would be faster than the V6.

ECOBOOST is defo quiet stock. you think your making a lot more noise than you are too haha bc of the simulated exhaust in speakers.

I would keep it stock and quiet in the exhaust department. As stealthy as a mustang can be.

According to the article, there was a problem of not building boost, I think.

If I am ever in the market for an S550 Mustang, new or used, I'll be hard pressed not to not get the V6 (and barter for a set of Recaro's) over the EB just for the better sound alone. Unless maybe somebody, somewhere, someday comes out with an aftermarket exhaust that makes the EB sound anywhere near as good...I have a small amount of hope that the characteristically good sounding Borla S-Type might, but I'm not holding my breath either. If that's not powerful enough, I'd just 'pony' up for a slightly older one with the V8.

I heard an uncorked one the other day, too. Sounded downright nasty.
