Wally, Dav, spill it on the suspension goodies. This has become a surprisingly interesting thread.
I am sure he looks like a lady from the back. Who wears pants like that?

The El Camino is an A-body except the last ones which were G-bodies so I imagine any A-body suspension bits will fit. I am not sure on that though.

I had no idea such a series existed. Bad Ass!

First gens (1959-1960) are also an exception to this.
I'd like to get an El Camino for my nephew to work on with me. That's the car he really wants, but they are hard to find at a good prince around these parts. The El Camino was/is very popular. I was hoping GM was going to bring that model back to market.
Here's a great way to improve all sorts of things on the front end of an Elky or similar G-Body;

Not cheap but it opens the door to big brake swaps and an improved camber curve using commonly available GM bits.

Can't even make them yourself for that price.
A G-Body El Camino is a GM Metric Chassis.
Welcome to the world of ultra-cheap circle track race car parts.

My current project is an 81 Malibu I'm installing the full Hotchkis suspension upgrades on along with a V6 to 350 V8 swap. Project thread can be seen here http://www.maliburacing.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=92684&sid=6b3428a5073beffe14c682ed8abdca29
Someday, I plan on getting one of these car/truck abominations! It's actually my fiance's favorite "vehicle", lol. She wants a brown one though, I'm still trying to talk her into a different color. Although, a crazy, built-up one wearing a shade of poop might just be one of the greatest sleepers ever!
i want to get a 70-72 in the fall, we'll see what happens. i'm selling the vic, camaro, and one of the trucks in addition to scrapping two more to get $ to pay back my cousin for the chevelle. so my wife better be grateful for that(she claims the chevelle is her car but i'm paying for it) and buy me an elky when i am ready.
