Ive been thinking about underdrive pulleys for a while on my M3 since it screams autocrossing and on HPDEs some people overheat their PS fluid, and since it seems nobody makes them anymore how about undriving accessories. There are some pretty nice EHPS retrofit kits out there but they're over $1100 (link) and i can probably put together a system for 1/4 that. but i'm trying to figure out what EHPS pumps to look for that arent computer controlled, so it'd be a simple harness.
so my question to you guys is what cars do you know of that are
(1) EHPS and semi available, preferably in the us, as ive seen some stuff from europe-only cars on ebay.
(2) simple hydraulics, pressure/return
(3) simple electrical control needs
any ideas? thanks guys.
if people are overheating their PS fluid on HPDEs.. I would suggest two things.. New fluid AND a cooler. I seem to recall that the Lancia Delta intergrale had an actual power steering cooler (not just a loop) so it could be homoginalised in rally

I know the MK2 MR2 could be had with electric power steering but I'm not familiar with the system or how it worked.

my old boss did that on his d-mod bmwcca car, put a small trans cooler in the PS line, but why drive it more than idle at all once you no longer need it at speed, and i'm not building it to a class.
Assuming I'm not misunderstanding. The MR2 electric power steering pumps are a common one.
