Our Porsche 911 project car crawls ever closer to completion, and we shot a little clutch hotness.

What's it sitting in? Is that an LT1 Vette?
In reply to patgizz:
That looks like it corvette something or another. Is it mercury marine built vette engine? Or are we just looking at the manifold?

I've been checking out some of the threads here and your RX5.0
made me grin pretty widely. I've got a couple more boxes of parts
but I'm not going to thread-hog. It'll be a shame once the shiny wears
off but cie la vie.
One of the most ridiculous KLs ever created. Also proof why the KL is completely under-rated. How does 545whp @ 20.7psi grab you? Not bad for a 2.5, huh?

Was the KL a factory option in the Probe? I remember an article, I think it was in SCC that listed their failed projects in the past. IIRC, they had a probe project, that (paraphrased) "No matter how hard we tried, and no matter how much potential we thought there was, making it go and making it handle were both just not going to happen"...boy they werent wrong often, but int his case, I think they really missed an opportunity
Every 2nd gen Probe GT/MX6 LS had the KL.
I remember that article. They failed hard. A KL with bolt ons even leaving the factory ECU will often make 160whp. Not bad for something that was rated for 164hp to the crank from factory.
A KLZE with bolt ons and megasquirt will make 200-210whp depending on state of motor and tune.
Start messing with custom headers and intake manifold, and it starts to get REAL interesting. Buddy of mine was one half of CZT Performance, they were testing sheet metal intake manifolds, were seeing just about 30whp gain just by bolting them on, no tune. We're looking for 250-260whp out of mine, still stock shortblock at this point.
Oh, and they WILL handle.
