What are the pros and cons to setting back an engine to behind the front wheels?

Pro: Better fore/aft weight distribution Con: Longer hood/engine bay needed, may be hard to access things like spark plugs on the rear cylinders
Roundy rounders here do it for weight distribution, they move the firewall back a bit.
