Anybody else catch all the videos floating around of Vettel making multiple passes under yellow at Interlagos?
I'm not one for conspiracies, but F1 has totally meddled in the rankings before (coughSennacough), so it may have some validity...

I've only seen one video, but it was explained as a "track condition" signal. Links to other videos?
The yellow lights were to indicate changing surface conditions.
The lights were the same as a yellow and red striped flag.
This is the first I hear about the issue!
Found a great video review of the incident and it's even presented by Allan McNish :P

Looks like 2 were legal, but one was definitely not. (Lights on on the steering wheel).
So, no comments on Mr. McNish's very well laid out, incontestable evidence that Vettel cheated and therefore shouldn't be the Champion?
No arguments.
I think that is a valid point.
I don't like that vettel is killing everybody in F1 like Schumacher did with Ferrari a few years ago.
i would rather see somebdy else win. Hell, i would like to have seen Alonso win with an "inferior car".
I would have loved it if Button had slowed waaaay down on the penultimate lap to let Alonso past. Just because. Heads would have exploded everywhere.
I think it's being blown up out of proportion. If Ferrari thought that there was even the slightest possibility of Vettle having over taken under yellow don't you think they'd have a stack of protests and a squad of Mafia lawyers on that case before the flag stopped fluttering.
For me I’m glad Alonso didn’t win, but I don’t see a threepeat as being good for the sport. I would love to have seen Button (No Brit bias here), Kimi or a new face win
The ferrari team did protest. They even pointed out the lap that it occured on. It was reviewed and decided that Vettel did nothing wrong.
Again, I am not a Vettel fan. I jumped up and down when he TURNED IN ON SENNA and got spun around.

So the FIA (Ferrari International Assistance remember) found no fault. I call foul on the conspiracy. I'm sure the FIA would have loved the come from behind fight that Alonso had this year as the champ winner rather than a threepeat from RB.

Oh please, the FIA has been out of Ferrari's pockets for years. If anything, Red Bull probably has the most clout. The FIA didn't review the fault, the track officials did. Reports say Ferrari (and others) are appealing to the heads in the FIA now.

I'm glad someone else saw it that way too.
I was watching the BBC coverage and Coulthard and the other guy kept blaming Senna for hitting him...........how could they now see that!!
OK, well a post race 10 second penatly, or a drive through in the race would probably only have cost him one place at most. 2 points, still the Champ.
I disagree that Ferrari are out of favour. The FIA will still bend over backwards to keep them happy, whitness caving on 4cyl and going to V6 for the Turbo's in recent history. Or just a couple of years ago when team orders were still illigal there was no punishment for the 'Alonso is faster than you' message to Massa.

This. When Ferrari says jump, FIA says how high?

The one that McNish pointed out looks forgivable. He did pass just inside of a yellow section, but right after seeing a green flag, and he may not have been able to see the yellow flag from where he was, and the car that he passed was pulling into the pits anyways.
The one pointed out on Axis of Oversteer on the other hand, is quite clearly an illegal pass.

Almost, they jump first for good measure, then ask if it was high enough for good measure. Can't delay in pleasing the Mafia!!!

That stuff is ancient history man. Ferrari has been out of favor for at least 3 years. If they still had their way there wouldn't be any return to the V6 turbo motors!
Also, a drive-through penalty is what would be called for, which would have easily dropped him to 8th or 9th.

a) he'd proven several times he could pass those people behind him and could have done so again.
b) Webber could have 'needed' and extra pit stop that went wrong and dropped back
c) At the point he 'should have' taken the stop and go (I'm not saying it was deserved) he would not have dropped back that far, it closed up at the end.
I don't think it's an issue and even if it is, I don't think it would have made a difference.

If you were beat for a season championship by a guy who clearly made an illegal pass would you still honestly call it not an issue? Reading the protests in the SCCA's bulletin leads me to believe otherwise.
I'm no Alonso fan, but that pass was clearly illegal and Ferrari has a few weeks to lodge the protest. Vettel clearly deserves the penalty, and it would definitely vacate the championship.
I think the people working the lights were conspiring to try to initiate this crap.......unprofessional workers is more likely than a conspiracy by f1
In reply to Javelin:
Is there ANYTHING you don't bitch about??
Especially things you can do NOTHING about.

I'll bet you one internet point that it will make no difference. If a protest is upheld, I bet the penalty would be a 10 second post race penatly that would move him back 1 place, costing him 2 points leaving him champ by 1 point. No way are the FIA changing the Champ after the champaign has flowed. Too much bad press.
