Have your flame suits handy for the possible onslaught from the GT40/Windsor crowd. They may be a little miffed about the "Cleveland" goodness comment...

Heck, they didn't even mention the 1993 Cobra "R"! A very rare and unique car (Only 107 made.) using parts from various Ford cars including Continental, Mk VII, '94 Mustang Cobra, Taurus, and a few others. I owned one of these and "raced" it so it was hunt for replacement parts when it came time to replace worn stuff.

The parts bin make-up of a car like the '93 R that you mention can make for pretty interesting reading. Is there a good article detailing all of those sorts of hardware choices Ford made to build these cars?

I guess I need to turn in my Man Card if I admit the last time I had a subscription, it mentioned the birth of your child...

^^ no need to turn in your "Man" card----- just pony up for a subscription! It's not expensive, is full of good stuff, and it allows us to bring you this forum.

I mean.....both of Margie's kids are in their twenties now.....so it's been a while!

When I bought my "R" in 1995 from the second owner I also received in the packet of paperwork a multi page print out listing the Ford part number of various parts unique to the '93R', like the radiator, strut brace, steering knuckles, struts & shocks etc. It ran for close to 10 pages of single spaced pages of the of part, it's description, and the part number. I found in talking to other owners that few of them had such a list and they asked me to make copies, which I did.

Some parts were made in small numbers just for these cars and only a small number of spares were kept by Ford and you couldn't order that part without proof of ownership. Actually many of the parts listed were things like nuts, bolts, washer, etc. that were needed to screw the special part together. The actual list of the unique parts could have been listed on one page.

For info on the car there were some articles written at the time these cars were produced which you can search on line. There are a couple of books written about Fords SVT division and all of it's other cars like the Lighting pickups, the SVT Contour, SVT Focus, Mustang Cobras, etc.
