So my limited understanding is that you can use a lot of mustang parts on one of these old falcons.

Too bad about the 4 door, but I always get a kick out of the pictures of the 64 falcons racing at Spa in Belgium. And Ralley as well.

Any thoughts?

I like the earlier ones, too, but '64-65 are my favorite. I learned to drive in a '64 wagon, and later had a '64 ranchero and a '64 2-door sedan (is that the right name for the one with the more upright rear window?), neither of which was ever brought to the condition it deserved...

Yeah, I gather you can do a Shelby-style front-geometry "fix" with Granada uprights (and brakes) and redrilling for a lower position for the inner end of the upper A-arm, though I think you might need a machined wedge to get the upper ball joint back into its proper range of motion... Someone at least used to sell that bit, though I don't recall the name.

Well a hot rod flacon is my dream american v8 car project. I want an early two door body that looks period with a 289 and a four speed.

yipes so those links are a mess. I thought it was working. sorry.

I was thinking along the lines of a panhard rod and some springs. I know the front end geometry is a mess on mustangs, so I guess the Falcon would be too.

I saw this Falcon at the Jefferson 500 this year. Nice guy and decent car. Before I embarked on my current project, I considered buidling a Series 1 Falcon for vintage racing. With a 250 cu in six, it would have been a great car and different

I made some recent comments about old Falcons and similar tin-tops in this post.

My firstest car was a 1965 Falcon Futura 2 door, 200 six shooter and 3 on the tree, very similar to this one:

So I have a soft spot for Falcons (some would say in my head).

Aha! I don't know whether this is the same manufacturer, but this is the camber wedge kit I was referring to. I think if you google "falcon shelby drop" you'll find some discussion of the specifics and history.

Looks like you can also go much crazier, but on this forum we already knew that...

A sleeper early Falcon would be cool. They don't weigh a whole lot either. Maybe a newer V6 would be something a bit different in one.

...and if I remember correctly, didn't that Falcon make the Kessel run in 9 parsecs? *
