Lots of us on here have had a long list of vehicles over the years, but for this thread...if you had to pick one that was your favorite for whatever reason which would it be?

For me it would have to be my 05 Subaru 2.5RS, it just did everything well from rallyx to autox and daily driver duties.

my old '74 Spitfire. Not powerful but was reliable. Piles of fun. I just picked up another - a '78 to hopefully re-capture that fun.

1970 BMW 2002

Fun to drive, direct, visceral, makes great noises, pretty. With Megasquirt finally dialed in, had excellent throttle response to go with the immediate handling. Did okay in FSP despite being underprepared (a 2002 needs camber plates, and never did that in FSP guise).

I look forward to the next chapter in the 2002's story after too much time sitting dormant.

EDIT: If we're doing runners-up, not sure in which order I'd add my '84 GTI and '87 325is. I just love A1s, and the GTI was just super-fun. The E30 was the best autocross car I've had, and the only project I've gotten pretty close to "finished", whatever that means.

My first 914. Probably because it was my first experience with small, light, nimble sports cars after driving muscle cars for awhile. (although my '87 MR2 is a very close second...).

I think I would have to say my 89 9C1. There's just something magical about an old cop car, and this one was no different. It ate up anything this 18 year old could ever dish out. Never left me stranded. was a ball to drive.

as much as I keep trying to resurrect the fun with a string of Fiats.. my old BMW 318ti is the one I look back upon with fondest memories

'95 Neon ACR sedan. Fun as hell to drive, loved to be flogged, cheap on gas, tires, parts, and insurance. I wish I had started autocrossing while I still had it, as was the original intent.

Probably the '91 GTI I have now. It's virtually identical to one I had almost 20 years ago. For sentimental reasons I'd love my '71 Datsun 510 ,that was my first car.

It has to be my Jensen Healey. It's not sophisticated but it's quick, handles reasonably well and overall is a very fun car. Next would be my old 280Z, its only real drawback was the lack of a removeable top. The next one wasn't mine, but a car I absolutely loved was my dad's 1970 E Type.

Funny, I thought this out and was scrolling through the relatively small number of cars I've owned... 69 MG Midget (love you, hate you), 92 Blazer full size (good times, bad times), 99 Ranger ext cab 4x (bought right before married), '02 WRX wagon (still own), 95 M3 (65k miles), 95 M3 (160K miles).

Loved all of them for different reasons, but if I had to choose one, I would put myself back in that time also- 92 blazer or 99 ranger. Such good times were had with those vehicles- I make more money now, but was probably happier then.

Just the car? Probably the WRX or M3. Would love to say the MG, but it's just too on/off for me. I'm afraid to drive it more than 30 miles from home just because I know it will berkeley me in the ass like a stranger. I think the real fear is that I would go all Walter Sobchak with a crow bar on it. The M3 gives me that "fizzy" feeling, but I've never really driven it in anger. I love the way it looks- the 90's kid in me, and the pull from 4k to 7k in second just feels so good.
