You know how I know they got this right?

Because it's polarizing. All the good stuff is either "you get it or you don't". There's nothing out there that's truly awesome that everyone likes.

It's not as if a hatchback Ferrari is completely unprecedented:

It has quite the rump on it, I like it. I can't wait to see some in person next summer at an all-Italian car show that I just happen to be judging cars at!

Not really a fan of it. No in a white-hot "kill it with fire" kind of way, just in a "Meh, not for me" kind of way. May grow on me.

Then again, since I'm 200K short of being able to afford one, probably doesn't much matter.

Couldn't agree more. You want universally accepted, you get the 2002 Camry. The world needs more intriguing and polarizing designs. I can't wait until Pontiac Azteks are showing up at car meets and getting lots of cred. And they ARE ugly, but at least they're different.

That Ferrari, on the other hand, is sex on wheels.

Unprecedented does not mean attractive.

I had to delete the hotlinks- hurt my eyes.

I'm not sure the Aztek is polarizing. In order for that to be the case, there would have to be people who appreciated the styling.

A head on view of it makes it look like a pissed off Pokemon. They should have done a retro 250 GTO.

Wait I know. This has been bothering me all afternoon. I know what it is!!! It is the love child of a Z3 and a 370z.

Edit: Now the whole Pokemon thing really scares me.

Personally, I think the front end looks like the Night Fury from "How to Train Your Dragon", only really pissed.

I agree with you. So does Jay Leno:

Just as the much-maligned Ford Edsel of the late 1950s is collectible today, so too will be the Pontiac Aztek in the future. No kidding--Azteks will be really collectible if there are any of them left. The Aztek is so odd-looking and weird that people want to collect them, like the popular "nerd cars"--AMC Gremlins and Pacers and Ford Pintos.

This wins for being the correct answer! If everyone like your stuff, you can look in the mirror and be assured that you must be pretty boring.

In reply to Chebbie_SB: Yes it is a LARC but it's at the Military Museum of North Florida in Green Cove Springs FL

It's amazing how much an extra set of doors uglies up a car. See Ford Maverick.

I love the Maverick sedan.
