And now from the distracted driving files....
When I was at the dealer getting the reflash on my PCM one of the salesmen was telling me the L has a coffee maker option. I think it said its a Keurig type deal, but still, brew your coffee before you drive.
I'm pretty much a crackmonger when it comes to guzzling that stuff, but that's got to be one of the dumbest accessory ideas I've ever heard of.
If the absurd resale value of Toyota Van drink coolers is any indication, a Fiat coffee brewer will be pick 'n' pull gold some day. BTW, I think the idea is awesome.
I don't think the 500L is the most beautiful thing ever, but I don't hate it either. It is not a car marketed to me anyways. I think it will do reasonably well in its segment.

The driving position worked for me. The back seats will fit real people and their stuff. If it's got any of the 500 charm and the turbo engine, it should be a fun little car.

no, no, no, No, NO, NO! Please do not ruin the looks of the 500!
Huh? The 500 is one of the worst looking super-subs ever.
berkeleying AGREED.
And i've had one for a week and a half now. Looks not-terrible in pictures, looks berkeleying AWFUL in person.
I don't know, guy here at work just picked up an Abarth. I think it looks pretty good in person.
I still wouldn't buy one though.
It's so ugly that it's cute.
What is going to happen to the 500 is the same thing that is happening to the Mini. Has anyone looked at the 4 door "Mini" suv thing that they sell? That thing is as big as a ford explorer and yet it is still called a mini.
The "Mini" is now a line of cars that range from a very small cool little car to a SUV. I be the marketing people are going to do the same with the 500.

It makes sense really, even if it is a bit of a perversion. The more product you have, the more markets you can cover, the greater your potential for sales, income, and glory. The trick is to do it well enough to not piss everyone off with a line of ho-hum products.
