It may have not been mentioned but there's a sweet 1.0L Formula Ford with a hopped up version of the same engine.
I wonder what they did to add those 80hp? Aka, how much more boost from stock can the little guy handle?

I'm not sure if they have produced them or will actually produce them. I heard a while back a bit of mumbling on the internet (ie take it with a grain of salt), that they were going to produce a street legal limited production batch, but the "projected" price was silly. ~100k or something....
edit
Here's more or less what I read a while back, so far as I can find no new news on the subject. Not that it matters for my income bracket ;)
So with regard to the 1.0 3 banger: I imagine it will be eligible for STF along with the regular 1.6 Fiesta? Should be a bit lighter and more torquey. Maybe a good STF choice I think.

Not sure. Right now it's all naturally aspirated cars in the class. Of course, all of the turbo versions of the cars are higher in horsepower, so they get bumped whereas this one will be about the same. Somebody is gonna have to submit one of those request thingies and see how it goes. STF sure sounds like the right place for it.

That was my thoughts too. I think I've decided my next car will be a Fiesta. Just can't decide on the 1.0 or the ST. I'd like to play in STF, so if the 1.0 gets classed there, like I really think it should, then that may win out. However, the ST would be a hoot as a daily driver as well. Not sure where it would be. Likely with the turbo Coopers, so not as favourable me thinks. Both would likely get the Ford Motorsport "autocross" suspension and lighter race seats so they'd feel pretty similar as DD. The ST would just have the 6th gear and more snot. Either way, I guess I have a year or so to decide.
