I’ve never seen another wheel like these on a GMC Sierra (GMT800) and am curious whether it’s a factory wheel or not.

In addition, I’d like to use either paint or Plastidip (preference is paint) to change the look.

This is the wheel in question:

And this is one of my favorite styles (though I’m open to different, less subdued colors but I’m loving the wheel one color and the “lip” a contrasting color:

The truck is white and I LOVE black wheels even though, and I don’t disagree, it’s been overdone. What about a black wheel, white lip (to match the truck color?)

PS: I understand the wheels I like are either beadlocks or faux beadlocks but the color contrast is what I’m looking for between the wheel and the lip.

It looks to be a factory wheel, see this GMC Wheel

Option code QF7, 2005-2012

That color combo could work on your wheel, better than all black. If you do black, I would go with gloss black instead of matte black.

Good find. Is it odd that mine are painted and not machined? It looks cast to me.

I think that wheel was offered on the Yukon off road package.  Whatever the Z71 equal is for a Yukon.

Now, any input on paint schemes?

What about gloss black (or satin) with dark gray lip?

I wish I could Photoshop my wheel with the color combination above...

Anyone? Anyone?

I like the silver paint scheme in the picture posted by ebonyandivory.  The whole black wheel thing is WAY overplayed in my opinion.

If you do decide on black, please don't go flat black. Please? Nothing says hack more than flat black, spray bombed factory rims.

My vote? Satin dark bronze.

If you decide to spray can them, I had really good results using appliance epoxy.

I bought a set of steel wheels in white, scrubbed them with Dawn, then wiped them with my favorite solvent, 91% isopropyl alcohol. DON'T use primer.

I sprayed them black, scuffed the finish lightly with fine steel wool to take the gloss off, and mounted them on my panther LTD with some dog dish hubcaps. They held up really well for three or four years until I swapped them out. No scratches or chips.

We've used Duplicolor wheel paint on alloys and it turned out really well and has survived pretty hot temps on track.

Grand Rapids CR has a set of those as brand new take offs with tires.

Close but a few years newer.

That's surprisingly reminiscent of the wheels Ford chose for the Raptor

Thanks very much for that!

Im not sure I can pull it off and have it look right, now that I see it. Maybe if the paint was gloss and not satin/flat?

The Raptor wheels below it look great however. Maybe when the wheels were designed to look that way, it makes all the difference?

Is there any chance (please?) to see my wheel in GLOSS black?

Edit: this might give a good idea of what it could look like:

Any opinions?

Giving things a glossy texture is very difficult. Here's an attempt with everything but the lip in gloss black:

A pic of that wheel in a glossy color or chrome would be better to start with.
