Depends...are you trying to look like a classy dude, or reliably get from point A to B?

the jag because supercharged straight six is one of the coolest things ever.

but i would fear it because the owner says it's a v6, so owner is dumb as hell and who knows what dumb owner did to car.

Super-Technical-Scientifically-Deduced answer comes from my 3 y/o daughter:

I clicked on the Jag and she sees the pic pop up and she exclaims "Ooooh, that's a PRETTY car".

Without a word I clicked on the G35 and all she did was silently take a bite of her cookie and looked back at the TV unimpressed.

Jag for the win, cute chicks dig 'em!

I'd take the jag.....I also like unreliable cars though.

Personally, I would buy the Jag, but the two cars are near opposite ends of a line that runs from Super-Cool-Car City to Reliable-but-Boring Burg.

Jag 'cause I like that it has LOW MILESSSSSSSSS, but I would look for a manual transmission if it was offered with one.

Personally right now, the G35 for 2 reasons--I need my car to be reliable right now, and I expect that the Infiniti would have better MPG (long commute coming up for me).

If I was in a different situation, probably the Jaaaaaag.

jag, purely because I seriously want one.

and id be concerned about the wear items on the g35. ive never had good luck with Nissan.

The jag sounds like a terrible idea. I say go with that.

Jag by a mile. It may end up painful but it would be worth it.

Would a q45 or ls400 be better than both of those? It seems like most other rwd sedans and coupes (Mercedes, BMWs, is300, etc) are either way more expensive, would be even worse of an idea to buy, or are in much worse shape already.

LS400 probably would be, but why would you want a boring v8 lexus? I actively avoid anything built by, designed by, or owned by datsun.....

I probably just need to buy the XJR, they are probably my favorite car that I could actually afford to buy. I can't imagine it being much worse than the other cars I have had lol.

Jaaaaaggg! The straight 6 seems to be a better design than the later V8s.

Xjr is much cooler. I really like g35s but id be scared of a 180k mile one.timing chain time. Unless theyve done the clutch then its time for that too prob.
This may be one of the few times where a british car could turn out to be a more reliable choice than the jap car...

I immediately thought G35 because reliability, but those miles start pushing me towards Jag. The kitty cat is a pretty badass sedan.

Hard choice indeed. Both are great cars. I'd have to drive them both and take it from there.

Can I choose neither? They're both painfully expensive to fix, autotragics, heavy, and unreliable.
