Recommendations?
I looked at this link... https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/grm/shipping-a-car/109425/page1/ ... Lookes like a vote for Reliable and Top One Transport.
It's my son's car, shipping to Texas (from Arizona) - want to make sure it gets where it's going "on time", since it'll be delivered to the base, and without any damage (not sure how often they're damaged in transport, but...).
Any others to recommend?
Where in AZ to where in TX?
Depending on the distance, I'd be tempted to just take an early flight and drive it home the rest of the day.
My experience is they all work off the same bulletin board. You get a proposed pick up date, but don't count on it. It took four months to get a truck moved from Atlanta to New York, an easy not out of the way run.
Of course your mileage may vary, but with two such experiences ending the same way, it's my $0.02
Good Luck.

The cheap ones do, yes.
The high end companies (Reliable, Intercity, and a few others) are different. They own their trucks, no brokers, enclosed trailers, more care, etc. They also cost twice as much.
I shipped a car with Reliable last year, the truck that showed up to pick it up was full (well, all but one slot) of press test cars that GM was shipping to/from magazines. They handle shipping cars to Monterey in August for Pebble Beach, stuff like that.
In reply to z31maniac:
Tucson, San Angelo.
Trying to determine when, we might try to ship it soon (before memorial day...), but it's also dependent upon when the base commander says he can have a car.
We also need to get a couple repairs done before that, too...

I'd almost pay for the sight of it, if that were the case - rough but fun driving 15 year old Focus next to new stuff...

The Volt up top has (I believe) Michigan manufacturer plates on it. This was June 2015, 4 months before they were available retail.

Shipping a car via Reliable seems to run around a dollar a mile, which is about twice what the broker guys with the open transports will quote.

I've used Reliable two different times and moved a total four cars. Not cheap, but good.
I used a random guy from one of the cheaper internet broker type places. It also worked out ok.
I am having my 69 vette transported with Reliable.
Gave a 2 week window for pickup but was able to come 2 days after beginning of that window. Gave about 18 hours notice of arrival and when I said that wouldn't work he was able to come 2 hours earlier which helped.
It will be delivered tomorrow morning.
Loading went smooth and the driver was great at least on the pick up side.
I shipped my most recent car to the lowest bidder on ship.com. Arrived on time.

I shipped a car from Ohio to Texas. It was only vaguely unpleasant.
But seeing as how that's a 10hr drive, have you considered paying someone to drive it? Someone in Tuscon could probably drive it, pay gas, and buy a plane ticket back cheaper (and more flexible) than you could get it shipped.
If I were closer I would quote you on a haul. But you're a little far from me to be profitable.
