ok we've got an '04, zx3, 2.3 auto, 2dr, focus . when turning to the right it gets louder , Intake/Exhaust-like , i think it might be the cat or manifold but i looked at it and no bad motor/tranny mounts , axles ,perceivable leaky intake or exhaust .... im stumped . Any one have suggestions or a clue?

Any chance the noise is a wheel bearing? They can make a nasty growl during cornering, could try coasting though the turn to see if the noise persists.

Foci eat bearings and end links like a fatty at a buffet.

I had the same thing happen on an Escort, it was a wheel bearing.

In reply to stealthfighter1: There is a bearing on the passenger side axle that you should check as well. Its right in the middle of the axle just about. I had one fail on my old focus. If that is the bearing thats bad be ready to buy a new axle.
