It would be interesting to see either:
Kobayashi

He's talking about putting his name in for the election against Mohammed Ben Sulayem. The election isn't until December.
Rumors around that Horner is now on the chopping block at Red Bull, after 20 years at the helm of the team.
Reasons include the issues he had with a female employee last season, his signing of Perez to a 2 year contract when he clearly was on a downward spiral, Verstappen's escape clause coupled with Aston's 226 million offer, the disaster with Lawson and now Yuki who was doing great with the junior team, the loss of Newey and several other key employees, the overall performance of the team, contretemps with Tost and Jos and on and on.....
Oliver Oakes has been named as a possible replacement, maybe that's why he resigned from Alpine so suddenly and jetted off to Bahrain - something's in the works?
I have to say that the Lego driver's parade generated some fantastic videos. They all turned into 10 year olds. If anyone hasn't seen some of the "in-car" video, it's well worth the time.
Probably the most humanizing thing they could have done for the drivers :)

I used to love RBR, but, honestly, they're poison. They can't win without cheating and have tied themselves up.with some, I'll be polite, questionable people

I read that rumor which is interesting. How is Helmut Marko not part of the problem? I read that it is a internal candidate, Franz Tost is the front runner to take over. He has done really well with RBjr.

So funny! They were dying laughing! I've watched it a few times now. :)
F1 is replaying a bunch of races on Youtube today to celebrate their 75th anniversary. Right now there is 23 laps to go in the 2008 Brazilian GP, watching the drivers run in the mixed conditions at the start of the race in those cars was impressive.
More fun F1 stuff, this time on the tech front.
I watched an interesting video today that claimed McLaren's secret for their rear brake and tire temp control is using "phase changing materials" in the brake ducts. The simple explanation is that when certain temperatures are reached, the internal structure of the material changes from a solid to a liquid, absorbing then easily giving off the heat when changing back to solid.
FIA says they can't find anything in the rules that prohibits what McLaren is doing (they don't confirm or deny the PCM) and at least for now whatever they're doing seems to be legal.
Fascinating tech if that is what they're doing, and not something easily replicated by other teams in time to have an effect of this years championship.
I saw that same video. I can't get my engineer brain wrapped around how any amount of phase changing material could absorb the massive amount of heat shed durimg braking in any meaningful way.
Yeah, that’s a fair take. The Ford partnership likely shifted priorities toward a more global brand image and long-term strategy. And while Yuki's growth has been impressive, those earlier radio outbursts might still linger in some minds—fair or not, consistency and composure matter a lot at the top level.
While i hate seeing cars crash, i am ok that drivers can't cut corners for speed.
Brutal q2 for Ferrari- both cars had bad second runs so both get eliminated.
Yuki can put on a show when he wants to. He yard saled that car.
I figured, after Astons good run on mediums, that more people would give them a shot in q3. I'm betting lots of teams are looking at George in his natural position for the year, and the Astons up there, and wondering whether they missed an opportunity. Max was always super fast in the first sector, but slowed, perhaps more than he gained.
With Antonelli and both Ferraris out in Q2, not a lot of reason for the fans to stick around. Tears all over the place.
Tomorrow will be interesting. I wonder whether starting on the mediums will be short term loss, but long term gain? Will the softs lead to a two stop plan?
Well, it's clear the meds are the tires to run, but then how will the hards do in the race. It could be an interesting race if the Ferraris find some pace and start to carve thru the field.

I really don't like max, but that was an epic start. I wonder if something happened to Oscar, based on George's comment.
Max always drags out a result, he would be a benefit to any team he goes to. He's a driving machine, but I still don't like him
Max could have taken advantage of a common mistake folks make. At the start your speed into T1 is slower than on a flying lap. If a competitor uses the same braking points they slow too soon and hit the apex slower than the car normally goes, leaving the door open for a competitor that brakes later.
