I am calling it.
Magical Williams podium at the second Silverstone race!

LOL!! Awesome optimism!!!!
Hopefully, Williams can figure out their tire temp problem better than Haas did a year ago- where qualifying was decent, but the race was dismal.
I read that they use Merc's reserves which would be Guttierez (or whatever) or Van Doorne.
The Hulk would be a better choice, though.

Who will replace him? I hope it's hulkenburg.
Inevitable that somebody would get it. It is the one thing that could keep Lewis from winning the championship.
Edit: Inevitable because young wealthy playboy types probably aren't very good at staying home every night...And cleaning up after themselves instead of bringing Consuela in to clean... and all sorts of other jealousy fueled fantasies i could come up with.

That is who the shared drivers are. As I understand it, they are not obligated to go with either of them.
Vandoorne is racing formula e and might not be available. Guittierez hasn't been in an f1 car in like 4 years.
Alexander Rossi tweeted at tracing point that he was available. Haha.

I think it's fair to say that the majority of F1 drivers got there because of very serious training and commitment. These guys aren't going to do something that jeopardizes their ride. Lewis in particular is vocally very health conscious. So while there might be a stereotypical playboy or two on the grid, they're going to be the very small minority.
Here's hoping Perez does well. Bad luck for him for sure.
Wouldn't it be amazing if Hulkenberg, who has record of most starts without a podium, would get a podium in the Racing Point?
Lando running a custom helmet for the weekend... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G6ExBrGdJHg
It will make you smile.
In reply to Keith Tanner :
Pretty sure that Perez had it in Hungary and either the test missed it or they tried to hide it. He won't be the last to get it. At least they're doing better than baseball!

Replying to myself here, but apparently he went to Mexico to see his mom. So yeah, that's like playing the Marlins - you're gonna get it!
Hulk looked a bit rusty in P1, but great to see him back!

Hulk look pretty good in P2 so far. Now we get a break for Albon's accident.

I think he can. I think he has a legit shot at the podium. He was only .6 seconds off stroll who, arguably, had the beat track situation as the wind was not yet blowing hard and then the red flag came out as he went across the line.
In other words, I wouldn't doubt that hulk will be right with stroll in quali.
Conditions are going to change quite a bit tomorrow- it's supposed to be considerably cooler tomorrow. They said 10deg, but didnt' mention C or F.... but even 10F is a lot for aero and cooling.

I think Perez just lost his own seat. Papa Stroll is no dummy and was likely looking at pairing Vettel with Perez at Aston Martin but then Lance went and got a best finish and then Perez broke the bubble and got COVID. Now Papa Stroll can replace Perez with Vettel and not look like the doting father. THis likely hurts Perez's prospects at other teams, too.

I so hope he has a good car with no mechanical issues. The Tracing Point car is fast.

And it's silverstone so there is almost always a rain element. Love all the wet races this year as it is the great equalizer on fast cars vs fast drivers.

You think? Doesn't Perez bring 8 figures in sponsorship to the team?

The kingpin to have everyone move early is Alonso, and he's not doing anything until the 500 is done.
Still, in the musical seats game, one person is going to lose their seat.
