The tank of my Saab 96 is in good shape but someone cut the lugs off the sending unit.  Try to find a new one, oy!  Looking at a 12 gallon fuel cell with a sending unit, but the question is:  Summit/Jegs sending units offer 0-90 ohms or 70-10 ohms or 240-33 ohms, probably more.

How do I know what my OEM gage requires?  12V system.

Thanks, Dan

In reply to 914Driver :

Find/buy two different resistors between 33-70 ohms, install each of them across the sender leads one at a time & see what your gas gauge reads. Then you can extrapolate & get a pretty good idea at which one would work.

Though I’d be surprised if it isn’t already documented online somewhere?

Do you have the old unit to measure?

The old unit is a bolt on cover with two legs going into the tank with the electrical stuff  below, someone cut the legs off; all I have is the cover.
