I am rebuilding an old ATL fuel cell, and don't want to pay their price for a new pickup hose.

I will get my own 6AN fitting, but what type of hose should I use inside of the cell? I'm concerned that regular fuel line is not designed to be immersed in gasoline.

Well you got 3 choises.

1) buy for ATL 2) Teflon (PTFE) hose nothing eats it but not cheap. 3) http://www.jegs.com/i/Gates/465/27097/10002/-1?parentProductId=

Wouldn't it be cheaper to get it at the local NAPA? $22. a foot plus shipping seems a bit pricey for what it is. I could be wrong but that is the same stuff they sell by the foot at many local parts stores. Just check the item # to make sure it is good for immersion.

Speaking of refurbing those do you have any worries about suction causing the hose to collapse? Would an immersion rated EFI fuel line be better?

In reply to Dean:

Nope not same stuff Dean this stuff is SAE cert for submersion in gas. Reg fuel line the outer jacket will swell and come apart. somethings it swells and pinches the inner closed.

Loads of motorcyclist find this out the hard way. The new fuels have made it worse too.
