I agree about the battery.  I bought the case with the power lead, so now I don't need to worry about whether I remember to shut it off. I think it may turn itself back on sometimes, too.

I don't know anything about an external mike, but I'm finding that it's working really well for me. The lower prices have me considering a second camera.

This is my most recent video taken at Five Flags Speedway in Pensacola, at an autocross event with Gulf Coast Region SCCA.

Very nice!

Hopefully I can sort these issues out in short order.  I really like the potential these things have with regards to the "data" overlays.  If they could just hammer out the few small issues (lag time, etc.), I would pick up a few more.

I'm really hoping that my current power/latency issues can be solved with the new Samsung card and direct power.  If things go well, I will likely be getting a second to use on the suction cup mount.

I'm still very happy with my virb. I need a better mount, the camera shifts a bit during hard corners.

The only thing I don't like about mine is the mic is worthless over 30mph, all wind noise.

an external would be sweet, but that would be devolving from the "clip to roof, flip lever to record" point-and-grunt ease of use factor.

A lot of why I have not even been bothering to try using my SoloShot anymore.

I agree, being able to just flip the lever and know that you're going to capture the video is fantastic.

Before I bought it I was badly losing focus as I was about to start my autocross runs because I was messing with trying to get my cameras to work.

Here's my most recent event.

New to the forum, but have been running a Virb Ultra 30 for several years at Mountain Bike races and HPDE events.  It has really done everything that I expected it to do and has been flawless so far.  Currently shooting 4k-30 with an OBDII bluetooth dongle at driving events.  I have found the Garmin software to be very good, not quite as robust as the Go-Pro but if I want to do some heavy lifting I just use Imovie on the MAC.  Attached is footage from a few weeks ago at Putnam Park.

Okay, majorly pissed off at my VIRB X.  Anybody got a clue what I can do to fix?

There was a rallycross yesterday.  At an ORV park. Before the event started, some of us were doing laps of a side by side / ATV course, and I was told that my approximate eyeball-judged times on sloppy mud were faster than last weekend's side by side race when it was hot and dry.  I was in 2nd gear somewhere and rev limiter in third (100mph wheel speed) elsewhere.  Also was told I got about three feet of air over a jump that didn't look like it was a jump when I saw it on the first lap surprise

Loaded the videos from the camera and VIRB Edit said there was no G Metrix data for the run.  NOOOOOOoOoOOOOO!!!  I found that there was indeed a Metrix file at that time location, was able to import it manually, but the time sync is WAY screwed up.  I can not for the life of me get it synchronized.  Anybody have any pointers?
