Thread from 2016:
My son loves videography and cars. I can't buy camera stuff for a guy who has a $60K camera, but Christmas is coming, and he just got his first Porsche (a 914). He also just got his first house, and his first garage. I was thinking some iconic Porsche art, or garage art, or something... So, give me some good gift ideas. Let's say under $100.
Boner pills?
Nevermind, you said 914. He's good.

I've got a rear spoiler off of a 2008 911 Turbo that you can have for $100. He can turn it into iconic garage art.

It's probably higher than your stated budget, but I like the laser-engraved, anodized aluminum car blueprint/spec wall art thing:

Aren't there some iconic sports racing prints? I know I've seen some with 550s or 356s. Maybe there is one with a 914-6 in racing livery that would look good in a nice frame for the garage.
I Googled "porsche 914 gift"
Link
I like the line drawing.

How about a set of shifter bushings? Or bronze pedal bushings? He needs those. Or maybe roof gaskets. Or a gift certificate to Hollywood Speedomotor to rebuild his bouncing tach.

When I got my car, my wife bought me a cool drawing of a bunch of Porsche GT cars from this guy. He does some awesome artwork that I think would look great in any garage. Worth checking out, IMO.
There's some pretty cool rep Gulf team jackets that mysteriously keep popping up in the sidebar of my FB account. That might be a little more subtile than some of the "I has Porsche" stuff that's out there. I'm also a fan of diecasts as a gift, but they've drifted over your price point for the good ones. The good news, from an available merchandise standpoint, this would only be easier if you said, "My son just bought his first Jeep."
That 60k camera though...

Yep. That's not a misprint.
I can't compete with that.

Tomorrow Pelican has a sale on racing art tshirts. There are a bunch of Porsche ones and even a couple with 914s. They'll be 15% off with the code.
A few years ago HotWheels made a upscale rubber tired 914 in their "Boulevard" line. Not too expensive.
Geeze guys. A thread on GRM about gifts for a 914 owner and no one posted this yet?
I kid!
Something like this?
A pink polo shirt so he can pop the collar?
Driving gloves?
Personalized plates?
(I'm joking, but its fun)
I Googled Porsche banners for sale:

Plenty of ideas there to hang in the garage

How about a PCA membership and a Lowes gift card or some tools?

Thank you! It's what I'd want for my own place

Got my first Porsche last year. PCA membership is great. Not expensive and would make a great gift to go along with anything else you give him.
Yeah, I'll second the PCA membership if not already a member.
With regards to PCA membership, Pete Stout, who was the previous editor of Panorama and did an amazing job, has moved onto other projects. His new Porsche focused venture, 000, will provide a greater insight into the brand without the handcuffs and politics that hindered his ability to create while with PCA. I strongly recommend looking into 000.
