Actually we got another pathfinder. 2003 LE an upgrade for the 2002 se that was totaled. Not bad but I wish there were more available around here. We pain 12000 including taxes. Man, the deal was tough to make. I get some pics but outside its in the single digits. The water from the exhaust pipe freezes when it hits the ground. The car came with a trailer hitch and tow package though I don't have the need now.
Can someone tell why you guys says that pushbutton 4x4 is not as good as the transfercase ones? From what I seen, there is not a new suv out there with the transfer case versions (maybe jeeps?). If all the car makers changed to push button then there is no big deal. I really don't believe it when you guys say that the button might break down just when you need it.
Pushbuttons are just a means of engaging the transfer case, which all 4x4's have. The mechanical linkage has less to go wrong.
Some transfer cases do not have the low range.
good luck with the new ride

Ford Rangers are notorious for pushbutton system failures. Even a jolt can break the engagement solenoid rendering the system useless. Especially hateful when it gets stuck in low range.
Since 90% of SUVs out there are simply poseur vehicles for girls and wimpy guys to make them feel adventuresome, I suppose there ultimately isn't much wrong with pushbutton 4x4 systems.
We 'real men of genius' who grew up around vehicles with Willys stamped into the tailgate prefer manly levers. Lots of them. Like this pinnacle of studliness, the Unimog:
Manual hubs are better also...
I hated the vacuum actuated setup in my S10
the mechanical auto hubs in...well pretty much everything have a tendency to break at the worst times, luckily the pathy and xterra i think use similar hubs and warn makes a manual hub for them.
